80's Band

I was down in San Jose shooting a tech conference last week.  At one of the parties, they had this awesome 80's band performing.

I'm getting ready for Open Studios this weekend.  If you're local, come down and see some artwork.  There will be over 300 artists participating in 9 different buildings, most within walking distance of each other.  I'm in the 1890 Bryant Street Studios.

Had a site visit downtown and took the opportunity to walk around a bit in Chinatown.

Another sunny day.  It's SO much more fun being a photographer when it's not raining.  I was about to do a shoot for a magazine article in my studio when it came to me: we need to take advantage of this beautiful light.  So we loaded up and headed out to the water.  So much more compelling.

I never thought of myself as someone who was seasonally affected.  But I cannot tell you how cheerful it made me that the sun came out 2 days ago after all this rain.  I had to stop to capture this photo on the way to an appointment.  I LOVE the winter light.

Went up to the Russian River over Christmas with a few friends.  Found this tractor on one of my exploring mornings.

We don't have heat in San Francisco in these 100 year old buildings.  It's only a couple of months out the year it's missed.  Here I am bundled up in front of my laptop.  I've acutally been thinking about a pair of fingerless gloves.

Tree at Sunset

This tree is in a park that used to be called "Graffiti Park".  It's been recently painted over all in dark green and there are lots of signs about how we shouldn't deface things.  Here's a quick youtube walking tour of what it used to look like.  Complete with wind and the sound of seagulls in the background.

Hair Show

I had a chance to photograph a Hair Show this week.  I had never been to a hair show.  It was fantastic.  I am totally getting out my blow dryer.  And maybe I'll get some hair extensions.
