Curve Magazine Article on Trish

As if this month wasn't queer enough, check out nerdy me next to all those hot lesbians! :-)

There's an article on my photography in the July/August 2009 issue of Curve Magazine (page 18). Link to the article here: tr.im/ttincurve

The writer came to my studio one afternoon. She tailed me while I walked around and made some pictures. She got me to talk about my process and my work.

For the record, my studio and my artwork is all Mission District. The Potrero Hill neighborhood (mentioned in the article) just doesn't have the same color and grit as my favorite 'hood.

The whole experience was really fun. Thanks for the article Curve!

Dyke March Studio 2009

My crew and I will be setting up a big studio in Dolores Park this Saturday from 3-8pm to offer photo shoots to the folks who show up to party before the San Francisco Dyke March 2009.

Come by and get a photo shoot!

We'll be accepting donations to benefit the San Francisco Dyke March.

I set up my studio at a Fashion Show event called San Francisco is Burning put on by QCC this Sunday. Some really extraordinary outfits. I'll be posting more soon...

The way home from Catherine's

It takes a lot to get me to cross a bridge if it's not for work. And yet it's always such a lovely drive home.

Jane Lynch at the NCLR Gala

I had so much fun covering the NCLR Anniversary Party this weekend.  They do such important work and they really know how to throw a party.

You can see more images from the party here.  Look for "NCLR 2009".

Steamer Lane

I was not in Santa Cruz to photograph the surfing, but I was stationed right near Steamer Lane.  It's hard to be out there on a beautiful day with a fancy camera and not grab a few shots.  So many graceful surfers out there.

A Family Portrait TTV

A curious thing trying to make a family portraits shooting through a TTV contraption. But a curious outcome can be quite magical.

1890 Bryant Street Studios

Here's a photo of my studio from this morning: 1890 Bryant St. It's the dark green building way on the left just out of the frame.

We so rarely have puffy cloud days that I find them mesmerizing.

Catherine Mackey

When I found out Catherine Mackey was moving into my building dk told me I was not allowed to stalk her. She is my very favorite painter. And it's true, I was imagining walking by her studio and making up excuses to talk to her. "Hi, so , um, did you hear about um, so, hey, that's a nice brush... uh.."

But now we're pals, so I don't have to be so dopey about liking her work. I thought I'd post a few photos of the back of her head in front of her work. Here she is studying then painting a pier over near the ballpark.

We're both participating in a big Open Studios weekend this April 24-26 in the Mission neighborhood. It's called a Spring Studio Stroll. Here's a link to a map of all the art studios that are open that weekend and our favorite restaurants that are all within walking distance.

It should be a fun weekend. Hope to see you if you're local.

Free Sand

No recession here. A very open hand kind of city, San Francisco showing signs of abundance everywhere.
